Tree Of Life-Live is a real-time visualisation and previs tool developed for Territory Studio, supporting large-scale projection mapping on an architectural structure designed by Thomas Heatherwick in China. The application was created to allow artists to test and refine visual content on a high-fidelity digital replica of the physical installation.
As the sole artist and developer, I built the tool in Unreal Engine 5, focusing on flexibility, performance, and ease of use for non-technical users. The system enabled real-time control of projected visuals, lighting, camera rigs, animation queues, and set exploration across multiple modes, including first-person, third-person, and drone views.
Beyond previs, the application evolved into a shared production tool. Artists could create and save presets, iterate quickly on designs, and record cinematic outputs directly from the scene. The result was a streamlined, collaborative workflow that supported the team throughout a long-term, large-scale production.
